Surprise! Our 20% chance of rain disappeared but then that 0% chance of rain turned into a downpour.
Con: we were just about to throw dinner on the grill, so that plan changed.
Pro: let’s hope this is also happening over at the 90 Fire, which they seem to finally have under control anyway… knockonwood
The fire – up by the San Pedro along Highway 90 (see last post) – is why the sunset has been so interesting tonight. The wind kept blowing the smoke (and burning mesquite smells) toward us, which at least covered up the rotting rattlesnake stuck in our fence. (Something ate half of it but there’s still a good chunk stuck in a place that won’t be easy to get to, hence why there’s still a dead snake in one of our fences days after discovering it was there…)
The rain has been hovering across the border in the mountains for so long that it felt like such a tease! Granted, some of the mountains on this side got socked with storms, too. Glad to have rain now. (Even if I’d just watered the plants again!)
